ThinkGeek sent us this shirt when it first came out, and yes, we’re just now getting around to posting the review. (We’re only slackers most of the time.)
But if you’re searching for a unique gift for the guitar rocker in your life who already has everything… this novelty t-shirt might be the perfect thing.
The tee itself is good quality, printed well, and includes a pocket sown into the inside bottom left corner to store a powerful little amp that run on 4 AAA batteries. You make some noise with the shirt using a special magnetic pick and strumming while holding your fingers on the fret for the note you want to play.
None of us at PCT central are rockers, but it was still pretty easy to find some simple music and make something that almost sounded like a real song – you can play all the major chords easily. The amp is also legit and produces higher quality sound than we would have expected. You can leave it in the tee (not recommended for comfort) or clip it onto your jeans pocket. And everything can be removed to wash the t-shirt normally.
We wouldn’t necessarily recommend this tee for young kids (the edges of the detachable guitar piece on the front of the shirt are sharp and we actually managed to get a pretty good scape putting it on to test), but its ridiculously fun to wear and play around with.
