Win 24 Screen Printed Tees from BlueCotton!

by liz on March 30, 2010

A few weeks ago we wound up in touch with Brad Wayland, one of the folks from nearby custom printing/embroidery company BlueCotton. I used to work at a screen printing place, but I don’t tend to cover the industry much by way of reviews because it’s really hard to talk about a service-based company unless you’ve actually tried them or seen their product.

But one thing lead to another and I was able to get my hands on some of BlueCotton’s printed products to see the quality.

As someone who’s been in the industry, I was pretty impressed. For all you clothing line owners who have already delved a little bit into the printing world, here’s the technical rundown:

They sent a few dark tees with underbased prints that held up under stress testing of stretching the material (if you see cracks in the print when stretching the tee, you know it wasn’t properly cured). The trapping was spot on and it looked like the artwork had been well-prepped.

For you less technical folks: The prints looked great.

As far as service — a lot of people have some great things to say about them, and when we asked Brad why he thought BlueCotton was different than the zillion other screen printing companies out there, here’s what he had to say:

There are a couple of things we have at BlueCotton.com that make us unique.  Most importantly we are customer obsessed.  Our goal is not to meet expectations.  We are trying to gain fans.  We want our customers to love us so much that they become ambassadors for us.  This love for the customer is evident in everything we do from the customer service, art, and production.  We constantly ask ourselves how we can grow from investing in the customer rather than spending $ on traditional marketing.

Secondly, our DesignStudio is very popular.  We have calls on a daily basis from printers that want to integrate our design platform into their website.  Our customers love it and it has receives critical acclaim from Adobe, Gizmodo and others.

If you’re like me though, you want to try a company before forming an opinion, so the folks at BlueCotton have graciously offered PCT readers a chance to win 24 custom printed t-shirts on any color tee and with up to 3 colors of ink. This is a killer opportunity to launch your clothing line, or sample another printer if your current one isn’t quite up to snuff.

So here’s the details:

Up for Grabs:

24 short sleeve t-shirts printed with your design from BlueCotton. Up to 3 colors of ink on any color of t-shirt.

How to win:

There are TWO ways to win:

  1. Leave a comment below telling (or showing) us what you plan to get printed if you win.
  2. Post a tweet about this contest by copying and pasting following message: Enter to Win 24 FREE custom tees from @BlueCottonTweet and @popculturetees http://bit.ly/bHPyR7 #pctcontest

I specialize in architectural graphics, and I've been wanting to export some of my crazy line drawings to a T so we could wear the places we create. My company, Threefold Studio, loves creating T-shirt designs. You can check us out at the link below.

24 free shirts sounds awesome to me. I looked at the “DesignStudio” and it seems pretty cool + easy to use. I think I could whip up some pretty sweet softball shirts for my intramural team.

Amazing contest. I coach a high school ultimate frisbee team that is just starting out. We fundraised all year to get uniforms but most tournaments require a dark and light uniform in case two teams have colors that are too close to tell apart on the field. If I win I will donate the shirts as the “light” uniform for the team. GO WILDCATS!!!

Our free printing would unleash Kissa the Cat on an unsuspecting world. At the moment we're in the process of putting a few designs on sites such as the one linked to do a bit of market research before investing in an inventory.

I'm trying to start a t-shirt and sundries business called Miss Hissy Fit to pay for my daughter's college tuition. I've used Blue Cotton before and they were incredibly kind and helpful, not to mention reasonably priced for a small business with not cash. :-) Our shirt has our Miss Hissy Fit lady on it and says: “Don't Call Me Ma'am! I Prefer Your Highness!”
