Godzilla Augmented reality shirt at Comic-Con.

I didn’t go to Comic-Con, but the internet did and that’s just like being there, right? I bet it would be a fun event to attend for shirt spotting. It’s actually not too far away from me, so I guess I’ll look into planning on making the next one.

At this year’s Con, Legendary Pictures revealed a new Godzilla design and gave away a shirt. But this was not your run of the mill, cool-design-of-a-monster, shirt. It was a cool-new-design-of-an-iconic-monster with augmented reality goodness. If you had put on the shirt and stood in front of a webcam at the Legendary booth, you would see Godzilla roar and breath fire like in this video.

Word on the street is that the new movie is going to be more like the original menacing dino in the Japanese movies and less hokey like the US remake. Since I’m a fan, I’m in. Too bad it’s not projected to come out until 2012. I’ll wait.
